About GRAPHIC NOVELS
Skouras began his journey in painting wanting to tell stories. He chose airbrush and acrylic paints as his medium to develop a kind of Photographic Realism with clear references to cinema, photography and literature. The images he created are compositions–shots captured in the middle of a plot. Their hidden story emerges in conjunction with the text that accompanies them. The American writer Vesna Neskow wrote the texts for WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO DOLORES HUNTER, THE LAST CORAL REEF, and ROUTE 69, while other images accompany texts by Italo Calvino, Jorge Luis Borges and others.
